Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TechReview.si, operated by Shivam Sharma (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses and shares information when you visit https://techreview.si (the “Site”), and the choices you have. By using the Site you accept this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Comments: your name, email address, website (optional) and the comment text. Your IP address and browser details are also stored for spam protection.
  • Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
  • Messages to us: your name, email address and anything you include when you email us.

Information collected automatically

  • Your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, the pages you view, the time and date, and the website that referred you.
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address (for example your country or region).
  • Information from cookies and similar technologies (see section 5).

2. How we use information

  • To run the Site, show you articles and keep it secure.
  • To understand how readers use the Site and improve our content and performance.
  • To show advertising that helps fund the Site (see section 4).
  • To publish and moderate comments, prevent spam and abuse, and respond to messages.
  • To send the newsletter, if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • To comply with the law and protect our rights.

3. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we process personal data on these bases: consent (for advertising and non-essential cookies, and for the newsletter); legitimate interests (running and securing the Site, spam prevention and measuring audience); contract (responding to your requests); and legal obligation where the law requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

4. Advertising and Google

We use Google AdSense and may use other advertising partners to show ads on the Site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this Site and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.com.
  • To learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
  • EEA, UK and Switzerland: we ask for your consent through a consent banner before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings option on the Site, where available.
  • US state residents: where state privacy laws apply, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising using the privacy choices message on the Site, where available, or by contacting us.

Without personalised ads you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our partners use:

  • Essential cookies: needed for the Site to work, for example to remember your consent choice or to protect comment forms.
  • Analytics cookies: to measure visits and understand which content is useful. We may use Google Analytics or a similar tool. Analytics data is used in aggregate.
  • Advertising cookies: set by Google and other advertising partners to show and measure ads (see section 4).
  • Comment cookies: if you tick the box when commenting, WordPress stores your name, email and website in a cookie so you do not have to retype them.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works.

6. Affiliate links

Some links on the Site may be affiliate links. If you click one, the retailer or network may set a cookie to record that you came from us. See our Disclaimer.

7. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with service providers and partners who help us run the Site, such as web hosting, content delivery and security providers, analytics providers, advertising partners including Google, our email newsletter provider, and anti-spam services. They may use the information only to provide their services to us or, for advertising partners, as described in section 4. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety and security.

8. International transfers

We and our providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the provider’s participation in a recognised data transfer framework.

9. How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Comments and their details are kept while the comment is published. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Emails to us are kept as long as needed to deal with your request. Analytics and advertising data is kept for the periods set by those providers.

10. Your rights

EEA, UK and Switzerland: you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

California and other US states: depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request a copy, to correct or delete it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising, and not to be treated unfairly for using these rights. You may use an authorised agent to make a request.

Other countries: if you live elsewhere, for example in India, Canada, Brazil or Australia, you may have similar rights under your local data protection law, such as access, correction and deletion. We will respect those rights where the law applies to us.

To exercise any right, email contact@techreview.si with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may need to verify your identity, and we will respond within the time required by law.

11. Children

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Links to other sites

The Site contains links to third-party websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please read their policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above, and where changes are significant we will make that clear on the Site.
