GTA 6 Launch Trailer: What Rockstar’s Final Trailer Shows Before November 19

Rockstar Games has finally done it. On October 15, the studio dropped the GTA 6 launch trailer, a 90-second cinematic that reinforces November 19, 2026 as the release date. The footage was captured on PlayStation 5.

Fans have been calling it “Trailer 3” for months. Rockstar calls it the launch trailer. Either way, it is likely the last major video we see before the game ships. Early reception has been mixed on one point: the trailer focuses on cinematic story moments rather than new gameplay mechanics, and some fans have called the footage a visual downgrade from earlier trailers.

What the trailer actually shows

The footage, which Rockstar says was captured on PlayStation 5, opens in The Keys, a region that had received relatively little attention in earlier trailers. From there it moves fast: Jason and Lucia’s criminal partnership takes center stage, with heists, a bank vault blast, a seaplane sequence, and quieter character moments in between.

A few details worth noting. Fans have pointed out what looks like an ankle tag on Lucia in one shot, and a call to Jason that seems to use reverse charges, hinting at parole or jail in the story. The trailer itself confirms neither. The soundtrack is its own reveal: Justice’s “Flower in a Hurricane,” featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Justice also composed the game’s original score. Rockstar is releasing “Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album” on November 19 alongside the game, with pre-saves already open.

Release date and platforms: confirmed

The trailer reconfirms November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the launch date. That date came after a delay: when Trailer 2 dropped in May 2025, the game was slated for May 26, 2026. There is no PC version announced for launch day. A PC port is likely down the road based on franchise history, but Rockstar has communicated nothing official.

Digital preloads begin November 12, according to Rockstar, so you can download ahead of launch day.

How much it costs and what to do now

If the trailer sold you, here is the practical part. Rockstar has officially confirmed US pricing:

  • Standard Edition: $79.99
  • Ultimate Edition: $99.99

Pre-orders have been open since June 2026, so you can already lock in your copy and preload starting November 12.

A few things to sort out before launch day:

  1. Free up storage now. A world this size will demand a very large install. Clear space on your PS5 or Xbox Series X|S ahead of the November 12 preload window.
  2. Decide on the edition. Compare what the Ultimate Edition adds over Standard before paying the extra $20.
  3. Skip the gray market. Pre-order from official storefronts only. Scam key sellers always swarm big launches.

GTA V sold over 200 million copies since 2013. After eight years since Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar’s longest gap between major titles, the November 19 date finally feels real. The trailer made sure of that.
