UPDATE — Oct 20, 2026, 11:42 UTC: Hostinger says a fix has been applied and the Dashboard, service API, Website Builder, and checkout are available again. Some actions may load slower than usual while recovery completes. Hostinger is monitoring for 60 minutes before confirming full recovery, and repeats that hosted websites were never affected.
If you can’t log in to Hostinger today, it’s not you — and it’s not your password. The company’s dashboard has been down for hours after a power failure at a Google Cloud data center, locking millions of website owners out of their hosting accounts while their sites keep running without them.
EN BREF — Hostinger’s Dashboard, service API, Website Builder, Kodee assistant, and checkout went down early on October 20, 2026. Hostinger blames a Google Cloud network outage, later traced to a power failure at one of Google’s data centers. Hosted websites are not affected. As of the latest update, there is no recovery time.
What’s down — and what isn’t
The unusual part of this outage is the split: the management layer is dead, the hosting layer is fine.
| Service | Status (Oct 20) |
|---|---|
| Hostinger Dashboard (hPanel) | ❌ Down |
| Service API | ❌ Down |
| Website Builder | ❌ Down |
| Kodee (AI assistant) | ❌ Down |
| Checkout / new purchases | ❌ Down |
| Hosted websites | ✅ Running normally |
| Email, DNS, CDN (per status components) | ✅ Operational |
In plain terms: your visitors can reach your site, but you can’t reach your site’s controls. No settings changes, no file manager, no cache purges, no renewals, no new purchases until the dashboard comes back.
How the morning unfolded
Hostinger’s status page tells the story in its own updates (all times UTC):
- 06:19 — Hostinger opens the incident: “We are currently investigating this issue.”
- 06:39 — Dashboard and service API “not loading for some users”; Website Builder may also be unavailable.
- 07:20 — Cause identified: a network outage at third-party provider Google Cloud, hitting Dashboard, API, Website Builder, Kodee, and checkout. Hosted websites confirmed unaffected.
- 07:54 — Google attributes the outage to a power failure at one of its data centers. No recovery time given.
- 09:16 — Google confirms the outage on its own public status page; engineers still working; still no recovery time. The affected services remain unavailable.

We can confirm the split firsthand
TechReview.si is hosted on Hostinger, and today has been a live demonstration of the outage’s odd shape. Our site has served normally all day — articles published, pages loading, email working. But when we needed the dashboard this afternoon — to purge the CDN cache after a site update — hPanel simply wouldn’t load, and the CDN controls live behind it. Everything a site owner would normally fix in two minutes is untouchable until Google restores power and Hostinger’s dashboard layer comes back with it.
What should Hostinger customers do?
Nothing, mostly — and that’s the correct answer. Your site is up. Your data isn’t at risk in anything Hostinger has reported; this is an availability failure in the management layer, not a breach or a hosting failure. Three practical notes:
- Don’t burn time on password resets. Login failures today are the outage, not your credentials. Repeated reset attempts just queue up confusion for when service returns.
- Postpone anything dashboard-shaped: DNS edits, renewals, plan changes, cache purges, new installs. They can all wait a few hours; none of them can be forced through while the API is down.
- Watch the official status page (status.hostinger.com) rather than social media rumors. The one update that matters will say the dashboard services are recovering.
When will it be fixed?
Nobody has said. Google’s position, relayed by Hostinger at 09:16 UTC, is that engineers are working on the power failure with no recovery time available. Power failures at data centers are usually measured in hours, not days — but until Google publishes an ETA, any specific time you see quoted is a guess. We’ll update this story when the dashboard comes back.
